We have 26 members and room for more. Our meetings are either on the second Monday of the month from 2 to 4pm at Harborne Baptist Church or we take part in a trip to a church/ cathedral where if possible a guided tour has been arranged. Public transport is used for these trips although members who prefer to drive are free to do so. All trips are checked in advance for travel times and a detailed email is sent a week before to members who have signed up. Those not on email receive a copy in the post

About 10 to 12 members attend the meetings at Harborne Baptist Church where one of them has prepared a talk and then we have tea/ coffee and biscuits in the front café area which is provided and served by members. This is a chance to have an informal chat about the talk or to discuss future plans and to have a look at any books or leaflets on church architecture which members have brought along.

The Programme for this year follows the pattern of earlier years. We have planned to have 6 meetings with talks from members at Harborne Baptist Church in January, February, April ,June, November & December.

These talks cover a variety of topics: Chester's Cathedrals Past & Present, Pulpits, St Chad's Church in Stafford, Church Plate and Modern Art in Churches. At the Christmas meeting there will be an informal quiz about what we have covered this year plus a talk from myself, as yet to be decided.

5 trips on public transport with a pre-arranged guided tour (except one which will be self-led) have been fixed for March, May, July, September and October. They include some local places and some further afield: St Mary's Convent in Handsworth, St Augustine's Church in Edgbaston, Aston Parish Church of St Peter & St Paul, St Mary's Church in Shrewsbury and Worcester Cathedral.

The trips have been to a variety of very local places as well as some further afield: St John the Baptist Church in Halesowen, The Oratory Church & Museum in Edgbaston, Holy Trinity Parish Church in Sutton Coldfield, St Mary’s Church in Warwick and this month, St Mary & St Margaret’s Church in Castle Bromwich.

We are a friendly group who enjoy sharing our interest in church architecture and after talks or trips, when we have refreshments there is time to chat and to get to know the newer members.

Please have a look at the photos taken during trips in 2025 & 2026 and message me by clicking on the link above if you would like to join our group.
