Harborne & Edgbaston

Background

Harborne u3a was founded in 1998 following the demise of the Central Birmingham Group. In 2001 the name was changed to include neighbouring Edgbaston and thus Harborne & Edgbaston u3a was born. Currently we have approximately 240 members.

These leafy Birmingham suburbs lie within a few miles of the city centre offering easy access to the city's library, museums, art galleries and concert venues. Both Harborne and Edgbaston have some lovely hidden gems such as Harborne Walkway and Moorpool Park as well as more well known locations including Edgbaston Cricket Ground, the home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, and the beautiful Botanical Gardens. The West Midlands Metro currently terminates at Edgbaston Village close to Five Ways.
